Do you charge for in-home consultations?

No, we offer complimentary in-home design consultations. We believe the best way to choose window treatments is in the comfort of your own home, where you can see how fabrics, materials, and colors interact with your lighting and decor. There is absolutely no obligation and no charge.

How quickly can I schedule a consultation?

We understand that your time is valuable. We can typically schedule a consultation within a few days of your call. You can also request a consultation online, and we will get back to you promptly to arrange a convenient time.

Motorization & Smart Home

What is Somfy motorization, and what does “Somfy Certified” mean?

Somfy is the world’s leading manufacturer of motors and control systems for window treatments. As a Somfy Certified Expert, we have undergone extensive, specialized training to provide our clients with the highest level of expertise in motorization solutions. This certification is rare — very few window treatment specialists in Westchester hold it — and it is a testament to our commitment to quality and our ability to handle even the most complex smart home integrations.

Can motorized shades be integrated with my smart home system?

Absolutely. We specialize in integrating motorized shades with popular smart home platforms including Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit. With Somfy’s MyLink and TaHoma systems, we can make that a seamless reality in your Westchester home.

What are the power options for motorized shades?

We offer both battery-powered and hardwired motorization options. Battery-powered and rechargeable shades are an excellent choice for existing homes, as they require no new wiring. For new construction or renovation projects, hardwired solutions offer a completely maintenance-free alternative.

Can I control my motorized shades from my phone?

Yes. With Somfy’s smartphone-compatible systems, you can control your shades from anywhere. You can also create automated schedules and integrate them into broader home automation routines to enhance both comfort and energy efficiency.

Do motorized shades require WiFi?

Not necessarily. Many of our Somfy motorized solutions use radio frequency (RF) technology and do not require a WiFi connection for basic operation. However, for smartphone control, scheduling, and smart home integration, a WiFi connection is needed.

Can I add motorization to my existing window treatments?

In many cases, yes. Depending on the brand and style of your current window treatments, it may be possible to retrofit them with motorization. We are happy to assess your existing treatments during a consultation.

Brands & Products

What brands do you carry?

We are proud to be a multi-brand dealer, which means we are never locked into recommending one manufacturer’s products. Our portfolio includes premium brands such as Hunter Douglas, Graber, Norman, and more — and we are Somfy Certified Experts for motorization.

What is the difference between wood and faux wood blinds?

Wood blinds offer a timeless, warm, natural beauty. Faux wood blinds are crafted from composite materials that are more resistant to moisture and humidity, making them ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-humidity spaces. They are also a more budget-conscious option while still delivering a polished, classic look.

What are plantation shutters?

Plantation shutters are a classic and enduringly elegant window treatment, characterized by their wide louvers and solid, architectural frames. They offer exceptional light control, privacy, and insulation. We offer both wood and composite plantation shutters, custom-made to fit any window shape.

What are the benefits of cellular shades?

Cellular shades, also known as honeycomb shades, are among the most energy-efficient window treatments available. Their unique honeycomb construction traps air in distinct pockets, creating a natural insulating barrier that helps keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer.

Do you offer custom drapery?

Yes. We offer fully custom drapery in a wide variety of luxurious fabrics, patterns, and designs — from soft, flowing sheers and dramatic blackout panels to tailored valances and cornices.

Pricing & Investment

How much do custom window treatments cost?

The investment for custom window treatments varies depending on the product type, material, size of your windows, and any motorization options. We serve a wide range of budgets and pride ourselves on finding the right solution for each client. During your complimentary in-home consultation, we will provide a detailed, all-inclusive price estimate with no hidden fees.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, we offer flexible financing options to help you invest in the perfect window treatments for your home without compromising your budget. Ask us about available plans during your consultation.

What is included in the price?

Our pricing is all-inclusive. Your estimate covers the custom measurement of your windows, the product itself, and professional installation. For motorized solutions, it also includes smart home programming and integration setup.

Process & Timeline

What is your process from consultation to installation?

Our white-glove service begins with a complimentary in-home design consultation, where we bring our entire mobile showroom — fabrics, samples, and hardware — directly to your home. From there, we take precise custom measurements, place your order, and schedule professional installation at your convenience. For motorized solutions, we handle all smart home integration and programming, and we follow up to ensure your complete satisfaction.

How long does it take from order to installation?

Lead times vary depending on the products you choose and current manufacturer availability. We will provide you with a realistic estimated timeline when you place your order.

Do you bring samples to my home?

Yes — that is one of our most valued differentiators. We operate a completely mobile showroom, bringing everything to you: fabric swatches, material samples, hardware options, and working motorization demonstrations. You get to see exactly how your choices will look in your home’s actual lighting.

Exterior Shades & Awnings

Do you offer exterior shades and awnings?

Yes. We offer a full range of exterior solutions, including motorized exterior shades, retractable awnings, and outdoor patio and porch shades. These products extend your living space, provide UV protection, and enhance the comfort and enjoyment of your outdoor areas.

Can exterior shades withstand Westchester’s weather?

Absolutely. Our exterior shades and awnings are built with weather-resistant materials designed to handle the full range of conditions in the Northeast. Many of our motorized awnings also feature wind sensors that automatically retract the awning in high winds for added protection.

Installation & Warranty

Do you install the products you sell?

Yes, always. We provide professional installation for every product we sell. We never subcontract our installations — your project will be handled by our own experienced team from start to finish.

How long does installation typically take?

Most installations are completed in a single visit. The duration depends on the number of windows and complexity of the products. We will give you a clear time estimate when scheduling your installation appointment.

What kind of warranty do you offer?

All of our products are covered by a limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser. The warranty protects against warping, discoloration, manufacturer material defects, and installation issues. In the event of a warranty claim, there will be no cost to the homeowner.
