Art Deco Dream Home: Custom Shades for a Briarcliff Manor Masterpiece

A Vision Rooted in Architecture

The goal was clear: design window treatments that enhanced rather than distracted from the home’s architecture. The solution had to provide a soft filter for natural light, offer privacy, and above all, reflect the sophisticated, geometric lines of art deco design.

Project Highlights—Two Floors, Two Looks, One Seamless Design

To meet the design vision, we turned to Alta Window Fashions, pairing 95% solar shades with classic roller shades for a cohesive yet layered approach:

• Guest Rooms (Upper Floor): We installed Alta solar shades in a deep chocolate brown. Not only did this fabric complement the window trim beautifully, but it also allowed just the right amount of light in while maintaining privacy—perfect for guest comfort and aesthetic continuity.
• Master Suite: For the primary bedroom, we selected crisp white roller shades. Installed with a reverse roll configuration and an exposed roll design, the shades cascade forward like a waterfall—an elegant detail that echoes the curves and symmetry of the Art Deco era.

Every fabric, color, and control option was selected with care to enhance the home’s unique architecture while providing modern light control and UV protection.

Custom Shades Tailored to a Renovated Gem

From bare windows to beautifully finished rooms, the transformation was striking. Our tailored solar and roller shades brought warmth, depth, and softness to each space—completing the home’s art deco vision without missing a beat.
