Motorized Woven Wood Shades for a Child Bedroom in Briarcliff Manor, NY

Westchester Window Fashions

Motorized woven wood shades in Briarcliff Manor, NY: Westchester Window Fashions was called in to finish one of the most thoughtfully designed kids’ rooms we’ve seen in Briarcliff Manor, NY. The room had been built from the ground up – custom painted walls, intentional design details throughout, and a vision that was clearly personal and specific. A space like that demands a window treatment that can keep up. These motorized woven wood shades in Briarcliff Manor, NY were chosen because nothing else on the market was going to do this room justice.

The shade selected was a deep navy woven wood in a rich, textured weave – fitted with a full blackout liner and integrated motorization. Woven wood shades bring a warmth and dimension to a window that no standard fabric shade can replicate, and in a deep navy colorway they read as bold and intentional rather than decorative. The blackout liner means this little boy actually sleeps – no early morning light creeping in, no afternoon nap interrupted. Motorization handles the rest, raising and lowering with a remote or app so the shade works the way a custom room should. For woven wood construction and color range, Alta’s woven wood collection sets the standard for what’s possible in this category. The motorized woven wood shades tie every element of this room together without competing with any of them.

The result is a room that feels complete – every detail considered, nothing out of place. That’s what a truly custom window treatment is supposed to do. To bring that same level of finish to your own home, visit westchesterwindowfashions.com or call us at 914-685-9336.

Pro Tip:

When you’re working in a fully custom room – especially a kid’s room where the design has been this deliberate – the window treatment can’t be an afterthought. In Briarcliff Manor homes, we often find that kids’ rooms face east or southeast, which means early morning sun hits hard. A woven wood with a blackout liner is the move here every time. The woven texture adds visual warmth during the day when the shade is raised, and when it’s down, that blackout liner does serious work. Motorization isn’t a luxury in a kid’s room – it’s the practical choice, because bedtime routines are easier when you’re not fighting with a cord.

How much do motorized woven wood shades cost in Briarcliff Manor, NY?

Are motorized woven wood shades with blackout liners worth it for a child’s room?

Without question. A blackout liner on a woven wood shade solves the single biggest sleep problem in kids’ rooms – light intrusion. Woven wood fabric on its own is light-filtering, not blackout, so the liner is what makes the difference between a room that gets dark and a room that gets truly dark. Add motorization and you’ve got a shade a child can eventually operate independently, and a bedtime routine that doesn’t involve wrestling with cords near a window.

What window treatments work best for custom-designed rooms in Westchester, NY?

When a room has been built with that level of intention – custom paint, custom details, a specific vision – the window treatment needs to be equally custom. Woven wood shades are one of the few products that read as a genuine design element rather than a functional add-on. The texture, the color depth, and the natural material quality give them a presence in a room that standard roller or cellular shades simply don’t have. For custom spaces throughout Briarcliff Manor and Westchester County, woven woods are consistently our recommendation when design is the priority.

Motorized woven wood shades for a child’s bedroom

Motorized woven wood shades are a good fit for a kids’ room because there are no cords within reach. A blackout liner behind the woven face fabric gives true darkness for sleep and naps, and a deep color like navy hides the liner while keeping the natural texture. One remote or app control lowers every shade together, so bedtime stays simple.

Our woven shades page shows the full range, and our roller shades are another blackout option. Hunter Douglas PowerView shows how motorization and app control work, and Norman is another brand we work with.
