Motorized Exterior Solar Screens in Briarcliff Manor, NY | Westchester Window Fashions

Westchester Window Fashions

Westchester Window Fashions recently completed a motorized exterior solar screen installation for a Briarcliff Manor, NY family who had just finished renovating their backyard patio. The space was beautiful – but nearly unusable. Late afternoon sun made the seating area uncomfortably hot, and as soon as the evening cooled down, the bugs moved in. The homeowners wanted a real solution, not a temporary fix. These motorized exterior solar screens in Briarcliff Manor, NY changed everything.

The solution was a full perimeter installation of SunPro motorized exterior solar screens with a custom zipper track system. SunPro’s zipper channel technology seals all four sides of each screen panel, creating a fully enclosed outdoor room that insects simply cannot penetrate. The solar screen fabric itself handles the afternoon sun problem – cutting glare and heat without blocking the view of the yard the homeowners love. Both functions are controlled via a single motorized system, raising or lowering with the touch of a button. You can explore our full line of exterior shading solutions to see what’s possible for your own outdoor space.

The result is a patio this family now actually uses – morning coffee, afternoon lounging, evening dinners – without fighting the sun or swatting at mosquitos. This is what outdoor living is supposed to feel like in Westchester. To schedule your in-home consultation, visit westchesterwindowfashions.com or call us at 914-685-9336.

Pro Tip from the Installer

Briarcliff Manor properties tend to have significant western exposure on their rear yards, which means late afternoon sun hits hard from late spring straight through October. When we’re spec-ing exterior screens for patios in this area, we always evaluate the sun angle before recommending fabric opacity. For this project, we selected a screen density that cuts heat and glare while keeping the tree line fully visible – because the whole reason these homeowners love this yard is the view.

Local FAQ:

How much do motorized exterior solar screens cost in Briarcliff Manor, NY?
Motorized exterior solar screen projects in Briarcliff Manor, NY typically range based on patio size, fabric selection, and the number of openings being covered. Most residential patio installations fall in the mid-to-upper range of custom exterior shading. Call Westchester Window Fashions at 914-685-9336 for an accurate in-home quote.

Are motorized exterior solar screens worth it for a Westchester patio?
Absolutely. Westchester summers combine intense afternoon sun with heavy mosquito pressure, especially in wooded towns like Briarcliff Manor. A motorized solar screen with zipper track sealing gives you light control and full insect protection in one system – and it adds real usable square footage to your home without a full enclosure renovation.

What exterior shading works best for bug protection in Westchester, NY?
For true insect protection, you need a zipper track screen system – not a standard roller shade. Standard exterior shades leave gaps on the sides that mosquitos and flies move right through. A zipper channel seals all four edges of the screen panel, creating a physical barrier. SunPro’s system is what we install for clients in Briarcliff Manor and throughout Westchester County who want genuine bug-free outdoor living.
